Hailing from South London, J Swif began as an MC at the age of 15 honing his skills on various Pirate and Internet Radio stations before settling on London’s Kool FM in 2005.  J went on to travel the world with his unique style of Drum & Bass emceeing fused with Rap and hosting techniques which saw him perform at Dour Festival in Belgium, Notting Hill Carnival, Fabric, Austria, Spain, Poland and Germany for top of the line promoters such as Renegade Hardware, Breakin Science and Jungle Fever.

J Swif later went on to become a resident MC at Renegade Hardware, Jungle Splash, Dekefex, CASC (France)
among many others.

No stranger to standing behind the decks, as part of studio management team on UK Rumble internet radio
station J Swif hosted his own weekly new music show and also ran the stations club nights. He currently holds
down the Drum And Bass HQ show on Pyro Radio and can be found at his monthly D&B residency behind the
mic as well as behind the decks at Fire & Lightbox in London.

After founding the online magazine Drum And Bass HQ in 2014 J Swif has amassed a huge following for the
Podcast series on iTunes & SoundCloud known for the monthly “Big Drum & Bass Podcast” and the host of
guest interviews such as Sigma, Roni Size, DC Breaks, Macky Gee, David Boomah, Micky Finn, Drumsound &
Bassline Smith, The Prototypes, Matrix & Futurebound, the list really does go on and on!
J continues to play the music he loves on the Podcast as well as at the “Drum And Bass HQ : live” club nights.
