General  Roots are  a 6-piece reggae  band

hailing  from North  London. They  have built  up a strong  and loyal fan  base over the last  five years, putting on  trademark high energy live  shows that have proven to get  anyone and everyone up off their  feet. Their homegrown approach to dub,  lovers rock & roots reggae has earned them prestigeous  support slots including

Hollie  Cook, The Skints,  Gentleman’s Dub Club and many  more,

alongside  rocking festival  appearances at Glastonbury, Boomtown  Fair,  Spanish  Reggae festival Rototom Sunsplash and  Croatian  festivals Soundwaveand Outlook respectively. They  have also had their  tracks championed by BBC radio  presenters David  Rodigan & Craig  Charles.

Their  debut album ‘Walk  Tall’ was  released  through Evergreen  Recordings in 2016,  and gained the attention of  the reggae community across the  globe, including British 2Tone legends The  Specials,  who  didn’t  hesitate to  take them on  a 21 date UK tour  as the support act.Having  been touring solidly all year  as the backing band for Hollie Cook,  General Roots are now proud to unveil the  brand new EP

‘Showcase’

In  classic  GR fashion, the  new record simultaneously  gives the tip of the hat to  various reggae sub genres, Steaming  into sharp new roots revival, whilst romantically  whisking you through into Lover’s Rock, with splashes  of Rocksteady and old school Rub-A-Dub to ice the cake. ‘Showcase’ also  guest features  one track with Island  Records artist Kiko  Bun –  The London  born Panamanian  singer with a golden  voice. All just a taster of  what’s to come in 2019 from General  Roots. The future is sounding delicious.
