Label owner, A&R, DJ, MC/Host, Promoter

Quest aka Tommy, plays an eclectic mix of anything that has soul & vibes. This could be DnB, House, RnB, Bassline or Old Skool Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Jungle & Reggae. Quality party tunes being the order of the day no matter what decade or genre they are from.

The driving passion of this versatile DJ has always been music. Upon leaving school in 1989, Tommy’s first purchase was some turntables to complement his already impressive record collection. And so the DJ career of DJ/MC Quest began .

The emerging House music scene took over London & the south east of the UK in the late 80’s & early 90’s. Quest was Djing at house parties & club nights by this time, playing sets mainly consisting of Hip Hop & House music. Later this evolved into early 90’s Hardcore breakbeat, then Jungle & now what we know  as Drum & Bass. Picking up the Mic was part of the promoters role in those days & Quest had a flair for hyping the crowd & made a name for him self as a quality MC & Host, with an impressive CV of residencies & guest appearances over the years.

Tommy’s music tastes has evolved beyond DnB, Hip Hop & House music, he developed an interest in the origins of dance music at an early age, like Disco, Funk & Soul etc. And was also collecting the classics and rare old records for his own personal enjoyment.

This early desire to seek out the best music, old or new still lives with him today at the age of 44 his musical tastes are now so varied that it would be impossible to list them all but its safe to say there is a heavy influence of Disco, Funk & Soul in everything he plays.

This is translated in the sets Tommy plays today, where his vast selection and knowledge of music ensures he can read the crowd & cater for what ever the audience requires & more.

Over the years Tommy has DJ’d all over the UK &  Spain but it was his residencies at clubs like Bar Roots in Spain, The Dance Academy, Fandangos & The Cooperage in Plymouth and Club L2 & Club 2K in Cornwall, along with a 10 year promotion & residency at the University of Plymouth Students Union which have really given him the experience to be able to rock the foundations where ever he lays down the beats today.

Tommy was also the co-creator & manager of The Bus Stop nightclub, bar & cafe in Plymouth from 2002 – 2005. Where he was responsible for all the promotion campaigns, daily running of the venue & resident DJ/Host.
