DJ Snipes Representing Kix Mag
At a young age the sounds of Hardcore & Jungle caught DJ Snipes attention & he would listen to Energy FM & record the sets from the DJ’S show. This instantly sparked a passion & his love for music. From buying a pair of turntables, to going down to Soho to Black Market records & buying the latest exclusive tracks on vinyl that had been released every Saturday.
Snipes then started playing at local parties in & around Croydon to playing in clubs in & out of London.
Temple (Tottenham)- Liquid & Envy (Crawley)- 02 arena (Greenwich) – Hidden (Vauxhall) Blue Orchid (Croydon)
The reaction that came from the different crowds made him realise that he had a skill in dropping the best tracks & mixing, blending these together. He then got into playing UK Garage which at the time was called US Garage in the mid 90’s & the likes of TuffJam, Steve Gurley first started releasing this unique UK Garage sound.
He had a weekly slot on Fat FM & then moved onto Select UK on a Sunday which was a big success with regular listeners locking in every week.Over the years his genres broadened & he held a residency for 4 years at Yates in Hounslow playing the likes of R&B, Hip,Hop, Bashment, Club classics & House. In his sets this has made him an expert in mixing & blending different genres together.DJ Snipes also ventured into holding & promoting events which led him to link up with his long time friend Trevor (Kix Mag).
Kix over the years has been busy on the circuit not just in the UK but also in the U.S.A, Ayia napa and Croatia interviewing established & up & coming artists including Krept & Konan, Ghetts, Labrinth, Becky Hill, Buskin, Katy B, Mobb Deep, Raekwon plus many more. While in the U.S Kix went down to the Ruff Ryders recording studio to film and record a Cypha with local NY rappers. Which you can find on Kix Mag YouTube channel.
Kix & Snipes held many talent shows in Camden called IN IT 2 WIN IT, CAMDEN UNPLUGGED, I GET MINE the list goes on… Artists would come down & showcase their music live on stage & the winner would receive special awards.

Kix is currently recording kixpodcasts with fresh & experienced endless talent from around the globe.
Snipes is currently holding a residency at The Treehouse in South Croydon and working on releasing his own beats!
