Like many DJs, Redlee started in his bedroom with a set of decks and a few records. It was during this time that he realized his passion for music and decided to fully commit. He dove into learning how to beat mix and never looked back.

As Redlee progressed, more people got involved, leading to the creation of promotions like ‘Nice2bNice,’ ‘TopNotch,’ and ‘Flirtin.’ Sets were recorded and distributed widely to establish their name and showcase their skills. This led to opportunities to play in bars and clubs around Kingston, Epsom, and the surrounding areas. As Redlee’s name became more established, he secured gigs at well-known venues like Club Colosseum, Babalou in Brixton, Options Nightclub, and the Rez Bar. Things started to take off, and he loved every minute of it.

Eventually, Redlee landed a resident DJ position and worked his way through the popular bars in Kingston, hosting and charging for special occasions like Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Throughout his early career, he achieved many personal milestones, including being the runner-up in the Pure Vinyl region competition for SFI Group and establishing his name through outdoor events and private hires.

A turning point came during a holiday in Ibiza, where Redlee managed to snag a set at the Coastline bar and later played at the Cafe Bar and the Congo Bar. It was then that he realized how far he’d come—from arguing with his brother Carloss about who was the better DJ in their bedroom to living the dream on the Ibiza beach.

Since then, Redlee has moved on from lugging equipment around and proving himself. He has been involved in various projects and played regular sets on the pirate radio scene, working with stations like Scream FM, Resist FM, Dance FM, Phat FM, Edge FM, and Flex FM.

With Flex FM now a legal station, Redlee and his longtime collaborator Sibtorious have built upon their well-known Saturday morning breakfast show, which has moved to Sundays from 8 am to 12 pm. They’ve relaunched Nice2BNice productions, hosting private parties and events at various pubs and bars. Recently, Redlee has played at Ministry of Sound, Urban Oasis, and Epsom Boogie Lounge with The Good Grooves group.

Working closely with his Flex FM family, Redlee has also co-hosted the Morning Breakfast Show alongside Noelsie, which has been a fantastic and fun experience. The future looks bright, and he’s excited to dive back into what he loves most. Let’s see what happens next!
